For the mom behind the to-do list

Teacher, mom, reader — learning to go gently.

Cheroka resting outdoors in soft golden light

Hi, I’m Cheroka.

I spent years as a teacher — the kind who stayed late, over-prepared, and ran on the belief that doing more was the same as being enough.

Then I became a mom. And then, in the middle of the busiest season of my life, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. MS has a way of rewriting your relationship with time, energy, and the word “productive.”

Pace & Pages is what grew out of that. It’s a place about the woman, not the parenting tips — about rest without guilt, identity beyond caregiving, and the small, real things that give us back to ourselves.

What I believe

A few gentle values

  • Rest is not a reward you earn. It’s a need you meet.
  • You are allowed to move at your own pace.
  • Small things count. Three pages count. A half-mile counts.
  • You are more than the sum of what you do for everyone else.
